Potato Kofta with Ground Meat Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1/2 kg ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
Prepare the Potatoes:
- Squeeze the grated potatoes to remove excess moisture.
- In a bowl, mix the grated potatoes with half of the chopped onions, one minced garlic clove, salt, and pepper.
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In another bowl, combine the ground meat with the remaining onions, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Form the Koftas:

- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center and carefully wrap the potato around it, forming an oval-shaped kofta.
- Repeat this process until all the mixture is used.
Cook the Koftas:
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the koftas until they are golden brown on all sides, which should take about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Once cooked, place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serve:
- Serve the potato koftas hot with a side of tahini sauce or your favorite dip.
- Garnish with extra chopped parsley if desired.
